About Yunnan Yellow Tea:
Part of the Open Door Tea Reserve Collection.
Yellow tea is a type of tea that is produced primarily in China, and is characterized by its unique processing method which involves an extra step called "menhuang" or "sealed yellowing".
This process involves slightly oxidizing and steaming the tea leaves, followed by wrapping them in special cloth or paper to allow a slow, gentle oxidation process to occur. This step gives the tea a yellowish hue and a mellow, sweet taste with a distinct aroma.
Yellow tea is less well-known and less widely produced compared to other types of tea such as green tea or black tea. However, it is considered a high-quality tea and is valued for its health benefits, including its potential to aid digestion, promote weight loss, and lower blood pressure.
Flavors: Similar to green tea but with a slightly richer, smoother taste and a subtler, less grassy flavor.
